Overview

Putting my spin on a Louisville tradition

In 2019, Louisville Tourism kicked off the 3rd Street Beautification Project to mark the opening of the Kentucky International Convention Center. As part of the project, they commissioned four unique murals, each capturing a pillar of Louisville tourism. When asked to reimagine the iconic Hot Brown for the culinary mural, I couldn't say no.

Hey Robby! I’m not sure if this project might interest you, but I think your take on the Hot Brown would be a lot of fun. Here's a sketch of our idea.

Thanks, Jessica

My excitement for this project kept growing, and I set out with a clear goal: to create something bold and eye catching that people would want to snap a photo with. I pitched the idea of bringing the ingredients of a Hot Brown to life as characters, each “getting down” in a dance battle on a piece of toast. Thankfully, they loved the idea!

Along the way, I snuck in a few “coloring” sessions with my daughter.

To bring the mural to life, I teamed up with the talented crew at OSRS. They were fantastic to work with and moved fast!

And of course, my daughter and I couldn’t miss the chance to snap a photo in front of our work together. ❤️

Oh, and if you're in Louisville, you can see the mural for yourself right here! Be sure to check out the other three while you're there.

Working with Robby on the Hot Brown mural project was a fantastic experience. His creativity brought our vision to life in ways we hadn’t imagined. For my first mural project, Robby’s hands-on approach was invaluable—he was timely, easy to collaborate with, and provided expert guidance. The mural has been a huge hit with visitors who constantly take photos, just as we hoped! His attention to detail made the entire process easy and enjoyable. Highly recommend!
