Putting my spin on a Louisville tradition
In 2019, Louisville Tourism kicked off the 3rd Street Beautification Project to mark the opening of the Kentucky International Convention Center. As part of the project, they commissioned four unique murals, each capturing a pillar of Louisville tourism. When asked to reimagine the iconic Hot Brown for the culinary mural, I couldn't say no.

Mural Project
Hey Robby! I’m not sure if this project might interest you, but I think your take on the Hot Brown would be a lot of fun. Here's a sketch of our idea.
Thanks, Jessica
p.s. I would like to point out that I did not draw the attached sketch 😀
My excitement for this project kept growing, and I set out with a clear goal: to create something bold and eye catching that people would want to snap a photo with. I pitched the idea of bringing the ingredients of a Hot Brown to life as characters, each “getting down” in a dance battle on a piece of toast. Thankfully, they loved the idea!
The concept sketch and mockup I presented to the Louisville Tourism team.
After honing the details, I arrived at the final illustration shown here.
Close-ups of each character.
Along the way, I snuck in a few “coloring” sessions with my daughter.
To bring the mural to life, I teamed up with the talented crew at OSRS. They were fantastic to work with and moved fast!

I also made digital prints available to those that wanted to hang the design in their homes.

And of course, my daughter and I couldn’t miss the chance to snap a photo in front of our work together. ❤️
Oh, and if you're in Louisville, you can see the mural for yourself right here! Be sure to check out the other three while you're there.
